Tomorrow, my student organization is putting on a comedic show. The comedian is named Bo Burnham, and since I'm 21 now, I'm old enough to drive the NMU van to pick him up from the airport. Three other people in the group are coming with me, so that should be fun.
But I just realized that I can't listen to music. This could potentially be a problem.
I mean, for one thing, what do you do when you pick up someone you've never met (and his girlfriend, by the way) from the airport, and have to drive at least 15 minutes back to town? They'll be talking, him and his girlfriend, I'm sure. But can the four of us from the organization talk at the same time? Or will it turn out all chaotic and mumble-jumbled, like my family Christmas dinners?
Should I put the radio on? I mean, obviously I can't, but maybe if I'm coerced into it by everyone else, then I could make an exception. I just don't know how it's going to go. I'm excited, don't get me wrong. I mean, what if this guy gets super, hugely famous one day, and I can say I drove him? I would have rather driven Seth Meyers, sure, but this will do. It just has the potential to be very, very awkward, or really, really strange.
I'll let you know how it goes.
PS: Still crossing your fingers??

Clearly, the answer is that you tell him all about your blog project and bring the CD. Share the torture with the happy couple. How could that not take up at least 15 minutes? (Can't wait to hear how it goes.)
