Day 43: Safe Haven

Work is now my safe haven. Well, it has been since I started this challenge. Because usually, at work I can get away from the music I most hate. Listening to the radio usually means Akon and Lady Gaga and Boys Like Girls, music fit for a dance party. But not tonight.

No, tonight "You Remind Me" or "How You Remind Me" or "This is How You Remind Me" or whatever ungodly long name that song is called. It came on the radio. I actually smiled, because what are the chances of that song coming on at work? That song that I have so many problems with. That song that just happens to be on the one Nickelback CD I've been listening to.

Sure, I've heard Nickelback on the radio quite a few times since the beginning of this, but this is the first time I've heard something from Silver Side Up outside the confines of my home, car, iPod, etc. This CD is nine years old. It's not Bon Jovi, it's not classic rock. So get over it, people! It won't be any better a decade later than it was when it was released.

Wait a second! I was just looking up the release date on Wikipedia, and it says the CD was released on September 11, 2001. I call your bluff, iTunes CD review. It told me, way back 43 days ago when I first downloaded the CD, that this CD was inspired by September 11th! This whole thing has been based on a lie!

aw. I'm sorry that you had to hear that at work! Was it out in the front or was it back in pot wash? Man. I wish I worked, so I could be on nickelback control!!!

It was out front. Don't worry about it, I lived.
