Day 44: Music on the Brain

In 5th grade, we sang this song in music class called "Pizza Love."

Now, you might expect "Pizza Love" to be the dumbest song you've ever heard, just because of its title. You would be right.

But this song, "Pizza Love," had a few words that just recently popped into my head. Yes, it's getting so bad that I'm getting 5th grade photocopied force-fed music class jingles seeping up into the crevices of my mind. Anything except "Hangnail" for a 17th time.

Anyway, the words, as I remember them, go like this:

Pizza, Pizza,
On my brain,
Make it Pepperoni,
Or Make it Plain

I don't remember any of the rest. Those are bad enough.

But right now, I'm sitting here thinking:

Music, Music,
On my brain,
Anymore Nickelback,
And I might go insane.

I might be able to market that.

Poetry and crappy lyrics aside, I've got music on my brain. That's all there is to it. I was writing the English Department newsletter (which is my work-from-home-type job) and I came to an announcement about this student that got some work published in an anthology. Except instead of typing "anthology" I typed "compilation." And although I'm sure this term could be used to mean the same thing as "anthology," I wasn't thinking of that. I was thinking of a nice mixed CD with jamming guitars and lyrics that make sense and some nasally-voiced guys singing them.

This might not sound appealing to anyone else, but it's exactly what I need.

41 to go.
