Day 29: Funny Pictures and Stupid Songs

I don't have much today. I did notice that I've almost reached a month of non-stop Nickelback, which really makes me happy. I feel like I've achieved so much. These achievements include unnecessary bouts of freaking out, feeling squirmy inside, and a fear of driving. Now that I think about it, these aren't achievements at all. They're signs my life is slowly disintegrating.

I listened to "Never Again" for the first time in a couple of weeks. I couldn't stand it before, so I thought that if I just skipped through that song (and track 10, the country-wannabe song about the tractor wheel), I could slow my blood
pressure. I guess maybe it worked. I decided to listen to both those songs today, thinking they might have gotten a little better. They didn't. If anyone ever asks you to choose only one band to listen to for an extended period of time, don't choose Nickelback. I'm fairly confident that I could handle it if it were any band but them, but what fun would that be? Overall, I'm glad I chose to do this. When I tell people what I'm doing, they think I'm really lame at first. When I tell them it's for a blog project, this doesn't change.

Today, a guy I work with said, "So, what do you win when you're done?"

Nothing. I don't win anything. But that's ok, because I'm not very good at winning anyway.

I've found that I'm thankful for one thing: when I heard Anberlin and Taking Back Sunday the other night, it was like being in Heaven. I think sometimes, listening to my favorite bands constantly, I got jaded. I forgot how good they were. I would need to see them in concert to reignite that spark, but now if I happen to hear them, it's like a rebirth. I can't wait to hear how incredible this music will sound when I'm through. I'm geniunely excited for that moment, not just to be done with Nickelback (although I AM super excited for that), but to hear music sound like it did the first time I ever heard it.

Ok, so enough of reflections. It's time for a funny picture. My boyfriend showed this to me, and I couldn't stop laughing. Now and then (since yesterday), I open it up just to get a laugh. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
