Day 17: Existential Thoughts

This post has nothing to do with existential thoughts. I just thought it'd be fun to name it that. I just got back from work. We close at 10, but I was there until almost 11. We got completely busy because it's Valentine's Day Weekend. A fellow co-worker and I decided that next time we're there that late, we're going to put up disco balls and have a dance party. I work at Perkins. It may not be what you think of when you hear the words "dance party," but I think it's a fantastic idea.

What does this all have to do with Nickelback, you ask? Nothing, really. You're certainly not supposed to be reading between the lines or anything, and they are definitely NOT allowed at our dance party.

I told myself that when I got home from work, I had to make myself sit down and do all this homework that's due on Monday. Instead, I'm blogging. If I missed a day of blogging, I'd feel like I was letting my blog, and my followers, and all my trolls down. And who wants to do that? So even though I don't have a whole ton about Nickelback to say, I still needed to post something. And I do have a TINY bit to say about them. They seem to come up a whole lot in everyday life.

One of the guys I work with was super excited because my student organization is putting on a Third Eye Blind concert. He then said, "People are probably mad because someone like Nickelback isn't coming." Another guy proceeded to say, "I'd go in a second if Nickelback came." I smiled to myself. I never realized how much of a topic NB was, or how much they were actually played on the radio, in stores, in thin air, etc. until I started doing this. Strange.

I'm listening to a SUPER accented Canadian on the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympic Games. I'm really digging his voice. Oh, Canada! No, not like the song. This just reminded me: Nickelback is FROM CANADA! I used to be fascinated with Canada until I found this out. Now I realize the coolest thing to come from Canada is Degrassi: The Next Generation, seasons 1-4. And this year's Olympics, of course. Just think, though, wouldn't it suck to get tickets to the Olympics, but only be able to afford the opening ceremonies or something? I mean, they're cool, but they certainly aren't any half-pipe or speedskating. In any case, GO AMERICA!
